It seems like the collective energy leading up to the holidays starts winding up, like a top. Then, at its peak, crashes into the wall and drops to its side until further notice.
The day after Christmas feels like stepping into the void… that liminal space between the end and the new. How did you use your time? Was there a lull in your energy? Or did something inside you whisper to pay attention to the part of you that hasn’t been seen or heard from in awhile? How did you feel? How DO you feel now that a new year, new month is supposed to signal a new you, but you’re not sure if your in alignment with the world’s idea of starting over in the middle of winter while the rest of nature rests?
Maybe you’re not crazy and were never meant to find this newness YET because the cold of winter has been calling you deeper and deeper within, to mend the soil for the seeds you’ve been planting and rooting until the spring, when the real new you naturally wants to emerge. Maybe that voice within is asking you to take inventory, to sift through the messiness, to begin the purging process, to clean house, sit in the stillness for a bit to recalibrate, regain your sense of equilibrium that the vernal equinox is drawing us to. Perhaps, this energy is calling you to prepare for the threshold of spring so when you are ready, the REAL you can cross that portal, emerging with the clarity you’ve been seeking.
